Conflict Resolution

Apologies for the absence. Sis and General #3 were staying with me over the week and just like every other teenager in the blog sphere, it's alright to let perfect strangers know about my miscellaneous thoughts but woe betide if my family found out about it.

Of rather big significance, Sis and General #3 got into an argument the day before General #3's birthday. Playing the role of mediator, it struck me that no matter how old one's offspring becomes, it's never easy for the parent to apologise. Also, that a casual passing remark can set off an avalanche of ill feelings dredged up from the unknown depths of our memories.

This is also the first birthday in our nuclear family that was celebrated with discord. Both of them were trying to win me over to their side thinking that i was supporting the other. Seriously.

In the end, i got pissed with both of them. Miraculously, that made them realise that they were making a mountain out of a mole hill and finally, decided to patch up over the course of a practice driving session with our newly acquired manual car.

Well, seems like our 1999 Toyota Corolla is really a good omen (General #3's birthday is on its licence plate).
