Disturbing Destructive Behaviour

Perhaps it's because it is a rather slack semester.

Perhaps i've been taking on too many extra curricular activities resulting in me staying out late past 8.30pm on 4 weekdays so much so that i've started to run out of steam.

Perhaps i'm subconsciously making up for a childhood very much deprived of it.

Perhaps i just like being hypnotised and brain washed.

In the past few months, i have unknowingly developed a rather disturbing and destructive behaviour: watching television for hours on end.

I HAVE TURNED INTO A COUCH POTATO!

I come home, get my dinner from the stove/fridge/microwave, plunk myself down onto the couch, turn on the television and just veg out.

Like the 2 depicted in the picture, i can just sit there watching nonsense.

I have to agree with my lecturer when he says that television has become the most effective form of hypnotism for kids these days. I for one believe i must be addicted to it!

Oh dear oh dear... If i don't stop this soon, in addition to my horrendous diet, i'm going to become a morbidly obese woman with diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia, myocardial and cerebrovascular infarcts by the time i hit 40!

Someone should investigate the correlation between the number of hours spent watching television and number of medical comorbidities over a lifetime. Are the hours spent in front of the television more detrimental to health than the hours spent at the computer?

What great research ideas! *pats self on the back* Pity i can't stand doing research and am hopeless at data analysis.
