The other day i saw a kid whom i thought had appendicitis. But one of my surgical registrars disagreed, saying that he was well enough to go home. The next night he came back and voila, an inflamed and stuck down appendix was found.
Boy does it feel good. I wanted to sing "I told you so!"
Today i was told by my clinical supervisor that i was the most cynical and jaded intern he has ever met. It took him 3 months working in ED before he realised how much of it was bullshit. I don't know if i should congratulate him for being astute or dumb.
