Japan Japan #4

More! More! And more Japanese food! No points for guessing this one. Its their sweets. Very very pretty and kawaii.
Go ahead and guess this. Interested participants can leave a comment. Prize to be won and given away!
These 2 are live puffer fish. Aww... poor dude. I didn't eat them. Interestingly, puffer fish meat is very translucent. FYI, puffer fish sashimi is not cheap as operators of eateries are required to attain license to process puffer fish. These fish are very venomous and can be lethal. Yes, they have killed a handful of people in Japan.
The freshest sashimi sushi at Tsukiji Fish Market. Ok...confession time. I tried to wake up at 5am to go for the tuna auction but failed. Oh well, sushi shops are open at 9am still. Don't worry.
Can't remember the name of this fish but it taste delicious. Heard its rare too as fishermen use only a string and got to pull in their catch slowly. Basically these fish have to be treated with TLC.
Ah hah! Realised Japanese makes nice thin crust pizza. Better than alot of the pizza shops in Singapore. What a shame. Let's move on to next pic. Too embarassed.
Special of the winter season. Some strawberry cake at Shibuya shopping mall. Yum yum!
Lunch at Shinjuku station. The restaurant name seems to be suggesting they only sell chicken meat and I think so too. Can't find any other meat in the menu. This is a chicken meatballs meal which I've ordered.

Water caterpillars? A plant root? Fish bait? Some kind of sea food? Special japanese leeches?

What's the difference between the 800 and 1500 yen ones? Size? And yet the size is not that different also.

ok plant root is close enough. try again? its made into one of those common japanese food we see/taste before.

beats me about the price difference. maybe got to do with the age of the plant?
